Orientation

Two full city days without a rental car

The Alcázar and cathedral are close together but require separate tickets and entry arrangements. Splitting them across two mornings leaves room for gardens and Santa Cruz streets.

Triana is across the river. Crossing Puente de Isabel II to Plaza del Altozano and Calle Betis makes a separate evening, not another palace visit.

Alex Travels
Alex's Take

I would stay car-free in Seville and collect a car for Ronda and the villages. Three nights provide two full days without tying the Alcázar appointment to an airport transfer or long drive.

Planning notes

Avoid These Common Mistakes

Expecting one ticket for everything

Alcázar and cathedral have separate operators. Cuarto Real Alto is a separate Alcázar product.

Counting three nights as three full days

Arrival and departure leave two full sightseeing days with three nights.

Travel planning answers

Questions about Seville

Two or three nights?+

Two for a full day with one major interior visit; three for Alcázar and cathedral on separate days.

What does the cultural core cost?+

Checked 7 September 2026: Alcázar general admission 15.50 EUR plus cathedral/Giralda online 13 EUR, totalling 28.50 EUR per adult before any booking extras.

Where should I stay?+

Santa Cruz/Centro for monuments on foot; Triana for evenings across the river. Check the actual walking route and hotel access.

Worth it / Skip if

Worth it

For palace interiors, gardens and the cathedral, plus an evening across the Guadalquivir in Triana.

Skip if

With only half a day, choose one interior visit and leave Triana for another stay; the full cultural programme will not fit.

With kids

Choose one interior visit per half-day, followed by a break. Plaza de España and María Luisa Park are outdoor walks, not unlimited relief from heat.

Guide details

Three Seville nights create two full days: Alcázar and Santa Cruz, then the cathedral and Triana. Two nights work with a tighter selection.

Book Alcázar and cathedral separately

Start with the official Alcázar and choose the scope: palaces and gardens have a 15.50 EUR general rate; Cuarto Real Alto is separately priced. Allow an editorial estimate of two to three hours including gardens.

The cathedral and Giralda need a separate booking: 13 EUR online or 14 EUR on site, including El Salvador. The operator estimates 75 minutes; leave extra room for entry and your own pace. Worship can change the visiting calendar.

Santa Cruz, Triana or Plaza de España

After the Alcázar, Santa Cruz and a meal are enough. Next evening, cross Puente de Isabel II to Plaza del Altozano and Calle Betis. A market visit needs suitable daytime hours; an evening walk does not guarantee open stalls.

Plaza de España and María Luisa Park form an additional southern outing. With two nights, choose between this and Triana instead of adding every walk after two major monuments.

Accommodation and daily costs

Centro/Santa Cruz keeps the monuments close, while Triana suits the riverside evening. Hotel parking helps only when lawful access is confirmed; otherwise park outside the tight old-city streets and leave the car there.

Budget ranges are per person per day for two adults sharing a room, including food and local travel; flights, intercity transport, hotel parking and monument tickets are additional. The 28.50 EUR base admissions become 57 EUR for two. A hypothetical 160 EUR room adds 80 EUR each per night.

Continue to Córdoba

The Córdoba guide compares a day trip with staying overnight. The overall itinerary counts these nights; Ronda is a later, separate driving leg.
