Naples between beaches and mangroves
Fifth Avenue South makes an easy evening after the US 41 crossing. Beach time is a separate stop; the closed pier is currently unavailable as a viewpoint.
Choose Marco Island for a beach day. For the Ten Thousand Islands, use the departure address on your boat booking: Everglades City is a separate destination, not part of an Old Naples walk.
After an Everglades day, I would book two Naples nights and leave the full day for the beach. Another mangrove tour adds most when coastal water is the missing piece after freshwater marshes.

Naples Beach and Pier Sunset
Plan sunset on the beach. The city rebuild page, checked on 7 September 2026, lists the pier, stairs and associated facilities as closed during reconstruction. It identifies Broad Avenue South and 13th Avenue South beach accesses as bypasses. Recheck access and limited parking before driving there.
Old Naples Evening
Choose Fifth Avenue South for dinner and a walk past its shops. Third Street South is a separate district farther south; one is enough after a late-afternoon arrival. A hotel with a Naples postal address is not necessarily within walking distance of either street.
Marco Island and Ten Thousand Islands
Marco Island is the choice for another beach day. Select a public access and suitable parking before driving there; a beachfront hotel does not imply public access through its grounds. A mangrove boat trip is a different outing. Check its departure address before combining beach time and a sailing.
Everglades City Access
In March 2026, authorized concessioner Everglades National Park Adventures announced its move to the marina at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Visitor Center, 815 Oyster Bar Lane. Its Ten Thousand Islands boat tour takes about 90 minutes, plus driving, check-in and possible waiting. Use your current confirmation rather than an old temporary meeting point. Ask for the total including any additional national park fee and access arrangements for your particular vessel.
Planning Logic
Two nights create one full day: Old Naples on arrival, beach the next day, then departure on day three. Choose three nights to add Everglades City. After a substantial US 41 crossing, another nature outing is optional. Naples shares South Florida’s warm, humid climate; it is not a cooler climatic escape.
Budget ranges are estimates per person per day for two adults sharing a room and car, including food. Flights, tours, park entry and separate hotel parking are excluded. A hypothetical 260 USD room is 130 USD each per night before food or the car. Compare final prices including taxes and mandatory charges.
What I Would Prioritize
For a first stay, choose Old Naples and a beach day. Marco Island replaces the Naples beach day; the Everglades City boat tour is an extra option with three nights. This keeps the recovery stop from becoming another long driving day.
Where to Go Next
Use the Everglades access guide for the route toward Miami. Continuing north to Orlando needs its own transfer day, without another full boat outing.
